You’ve been talking about the need to do better with your dessert options for a while, especially since you are now dealing with multiple health issues that require you to limit your sugar, sodium, and gluten intake.
And although you know this, you refuse to live a lifestyle that is needed in order to be a good steward over your body.
And following in the steps of your friends, you hop from one new healthy dessert on the market to the next.
You do good on your own for a while, but then every time your small group, ministry, and or church home has a function, you overdo it with snacks containing tons of sugar, salt, gluten, and other artificial additives, leaving you itching, breaking out, enduring stomach pain, and other digestive issues.
The truth of the matter is like anything else, you want the end result of feeling and being better, but you don’t want the work that is required for the process.

You felt the Holy Spirit nudging you about ending this vicious cycle years ago. But the reason that you don’t want to change your eating habits when it comes to desserts, etc., is that you don’t feel loved and accepted by the most important people in your life for who you are and what your body has been designed for.
You then project and turn other people’s non-acceptance of your physical needs and body’s unique design, limitations, wiring, and challenges into self-rejection, self-loathing, and wishful thinking.
You are sick and tired of hearing everybody else’s comments about the way you eat:
“There’s only a little bit of sugar in these cookies. Just go ahead and eat a little bit. Bless the food and enjoy it. God wants us to enjoy ourselves. Live a little.”
And you have adhered to so many other voices around you from individuals who do not have the same body make up, design, and wiring as you, that you have turned the volume down on the voice that governs your gut instinct and that of the Holy Spirit.

This vicious cycle has left you feeling lethargic, jittery and anxious. You’ve seen the commercial and heard this jingle too many times.
Eating healthy desserts that nourish your body is a process. Rather than embracing your process and journey, you are embracing and putting on armor that belongs to someone else. David couldn’t afford to do it. And neither can you.
The more you wear someone else’s body armor, the more you deny and reject the body that God has specifically designed and created for you.
Someone else’s armor requires you going through someone else’s journey. And of course, this is a process as well. You can’t avoid the process. Staying in a place of denial and self-gaslighting only produces more toxicity in your body and soul.

You’re trying to do everything in your own power instead of allowing the power of the Holy Spirit to infuse the spirit of self-control into your body and life, creating a continuous cycle of disillusionment, disappointment, discouragement, despair, denial, and discontentment, making you think, “This couldn’t be what enjoying life, and its simple pleasures looks like.”
And it’s not.
Your Refusal to surrender to your unique design and creation and submit to the process of releasing control and reframing your body design story has made it that way.
Simple, Functional, Grace-Filled Cookies takes you through Daniel’s Devotion, where you eat healthy, simple pleasures according to the plans God has for your body and not that of your own. Like Daniel, You’re not swayed by what everybody else is doing. You’re steadfast and unmovable in the body God has called you to be a steward of.

Simplify. Adopt. Give.

I understand how hard it is to rebuild your life after a high-conflict divorce, compounded trauma, and narcissistic abuse. Since 2014, I’ve been on my own resilience journey. I also understand how difficult it is to go through the process of simplifying your life and the writing process in general, adopting a functional writing environment that that fits you, giving you a time, space, place, & margin so that it reflects who you are as a person in your current season.
i began my writing in march of 2016, and i never looked back. it started with my first autobiography, and then god branched out to calling me into more content creation from there.
i finished raising my two kids on my own (I am so proud of the young people they have become). I am the author of eleven books on the subjects of healing, identity, self-worth, trauma, divorce, rebuilding, narcissistic abuse recovery, and navigating toxic relationships.
I have a BS in Business Administration, focused in Management, and a Masters in Information Technology. While these two fields may appear unrelated to healing and rebuilding, they’re not. The same approach to troubleshooting, building, and rebuilding old and new PCs are the same approaches that we use when it comes to troubleshooting and rebuilding our minds, bodies, souls, spirits, and relationships in life.
We must analyze the problem, troubleshoot the different culprits for the source of the problem, implement a plan of solution from the data that troubleshooting has revealed to us, empower ourselves and others, and then in turn impact the other people who are in relationship with us, and affected by the problem.
eat simple treats aligning with your mind, body, soul, and spirit.
