surrender and ootd with sorel and express

The other day i had a little bit of content creation work to do. Other than that, i had a day of sabbath rest. tons of it. and i needed it. sabbath reminds us to slow down a little bit, take it all in, breathe in the sights and sounds of spring: the birds singing, the trees blooming, the squirrels and chipmunks reemerging, the freshcut grass smelling, the gorgeous sunsets. all of it.

the other thing that sabbath reminds us to do is to breathe. just simply breathe. it reminds me of the sermon i heard on this past resurrection sunday that was entitled, “relaxing in the resurrection”. as the congregation got ready to leave, the pastor said, “tell your neighbor, “Let it all play out”.”

It seems so hard, but yet it is simple at the time. it’s hard because we want to carry the reins. god has it even when we think he doesn’t. we want the outcome to be what we want it to be. even when god says different. it’s simple in the sense that we have exhausted all human measures, and thus, let with no other option but surrender. and that’s what enjoying life’s simple pleasures is all about: simplifying the process by knowing what it is that you can and can’t control, and after doing everything you can-standing and seeing the salvation of the lord.

now, for the outfit of the day:

i have on an evan picone blazer with express jeans that were a gift from my mom. For my footwear, i’m sporting a pair of black leather & lime green sorel rain boots that i found at sierra about six months ago. I’M CARRYING “A NEW DAY” BACKPACK AND A VINTAGE LEATHER AND COTTON BANANA REPUBLIC PURSE. my t-shirt, “the soul-ties front tee” is from my store, the valley of grace shop. the link to the store in general is in the menu up above. i’m wearing a vintage -tri-colored green suede belt from gap, and last, but surely, not least, i’m sporting ann taylor’s possibility cologne.

It’s simple. functional. grace-filled living. where we enjoy life’s simple pleasures one unique design, space, style, and organiZation at a time.

be blessed!
